1/3 The youth hostel was a few feet away from the Alta Lake, with a good view of both Blackcomb and Mt Whistler. Unfortunately, it was also very close to the railroad.

So the first morning, we were all impatient to get up there, see if the opposite view was nice.

We were quite lucky, at first, to enjoy a blue sky, almost cloudless. We could clearly see the ski slopes of Blackcomb from those of Mt Whistler.

2/3 Regis and Pierre went directly to the hard stuff, and it was quickly clear that they would take a different path from mine... After a while I left them, and went to easier places.

Not that I would run into the other skiers or snowboarders, but I was not really up to doing double diamonds all day long...

In any case, these first runs were an opportunity to discover nice tracks, such as the glacier at the top of Blackcomb.

3/3 Saturday was very cloudy. Thankfully, sunday morning was much better. The frosted trees on Mt Whistler reflected the color of the morning sky. When it was time to leave, the clouds were slowly reappearing.

On the way back, we made a few stops on the road to admire the fjords, that the pitch black night had hidden from us on thursday evening.
